Configuring Gmail with Evanced as an SMTP service

To setup Gmail for use with Events and Room Reserve, you need to first enable POP in Gmail. See instructions here: https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13273

Then go to the Email Server Settings configuration page in Events or Room Reserve and enter the following items:

• SMTP Address: smtp.gmail.com
  
• Select "Basic Authentication"
  
• Username: [Your Gmail Address]
  
• Password: [Your Gmail Account Password]

• SMTP Port: 465
  
• Use SSL Connection: Enable
  

For Event Calendar and Room Reserve (V6)

• Contact us and we'll setup the port number (465) and enable
  SSL. These settings are only available from the factory-side at the
  moment for Events and Room Reserve.
  

For Event Calendar and Room Reserve (V7)

• Outgoing SMTP Server Port: 465
  
• Outgoing SMTP Use SSL: Yes
  

One thing to remember is that there is a limit (500 emails sent/day)
with Gmail. If that is a potential problem then you might want to
subscribe to Google Apps (non-profit edition). This limit is 2000 emails
sent/day.
