New Amazon Email Service in Summer Reader Version 10

We are glad to announce that we now have a new and reliable way to provide email service for our customers; whose Summer Reader sites are hosted on our servers. This option is available in Summer Reader version 10.010. All of our hosted customers are scheduled to receive this new version in March and April of 2013, and should have received a notification about it.
This is available in Summer Reader version 10.010 automatically, thus switching all of our hosted Summer Reader customers to the new email service provided by Amazon. Below are the simple steps you will need to take to activate it in your system. It is important that you do so as soon as possible to ensure email continues to function as expected in Summer Reader.

Verifying System Email Setup 'From' Email Address
1- Login in to the maintenance side of your Summer Reader application as an administrator.
2- Click on Email Setup from the System Maintenance page.
3- Set "Email System Enable” to "Enable”. It is recommended to also set both of "Confirmation Email Enable” and "Login Info Email Enable” to "Enable”.
4- Fill out the From Name and From Email Address with the contact's information who is in charge of the Summer Reader system. Then hit Save.
5- Access the Email Setup page again and select to Send a Test Email. This will trigger a verification email to get sent to the email address you've specified above. It is an email from Amazon. This will be indicated in its subject line. It will contain a verification link that needs to be clicked within 24 hours of received the email. Once this step is successfully completed, you Summer Reader application will be capable of using email notifications via our Amazon Email Service.
Note: If you missed the 24 hour period, please repeat step #5 again and the verification email will get resent.
If email is configured but has not been activated using the test button; as explained above, email will get activated at the first attempt for the system to generate an email.

Verifying Program Contact Email Addresses (if necessary)

6- If you are using program specific Contact Email Address(es) for any of your programs, these addresses will be used in lieu of the From Address configured in your Email Setup page. If any of these addresses are different than the From Address, they will also need to be confirmed as authorized senders. To find where these addresses are listed, go to System Maintenance> Edit Program> Select the name of program> Look under the General Setting section at the top.

7-To send a test email to verify these program specific email addresses, create a test patron in the program with a test email address in their registration info. Bring up list of registrants from the staff side and select the Email button to send a custom email, or select the test patron's registration information icon () and select the Email Login Info button there. Note: the Email Login Info button will only appear if the Login Info Email setting is enabled under Email Setup.

Look out for another verification email from Amazon SES and click the link within 24 hours to confirm that email address.
If you have any questions about this or encountered any problems, please contact our support team at support@evancedsolutions.com. For customers who are hosting our application on their own server and interested in this service, please also contact us at the same email above.
